What you need to do to find fantasy football sleepers

If you really want to win in fantasy football your going to have to manage your rosters by adding and dropping players weekly and sometimes on a daily basis. Here are five important fantasy football tips to ensure you always have the ability to identify and pick fantasy football sleepers

First be sure you what a true sleeper is, thats a player with a good opportunity to get playing time that is probably not even starting at the time. He might not even be the second/back up player, but for some reason he has an opportunity to get playing time and therefore, he is a good potential fantasy football sleeper so its like he's under the radar from a fantasy perspective.

Tip # 1: During fantasy football draft season pay (August early September) pay attention to the players, who are not starters that are getting lots of playing time in the 3rd and 4th preseason games of the season. Those are the guys that teams want to see play to determine if or when they would get playing time during the regular season. Team websites, will carry articles on players who are getting lots of practice time and looking good in practice.

Tip # 2: Back up running backs, guys that are backing up the starters are always potential sleepers because of the running back position and now teams are moving more towards two backs carrying the load, due to injuries.

Tip # 3: Pay attention to #3 wide receivers and the "pass happy offenses" that use 3 and 4 wide receiver sets. Going into the beginning part of a season pay attention to those teams that are putting up lots of passing yards.

Tip # 4: During the season pay attention to the weekly injury reports, especially Thursday and Friday's right before you have to set your fantasy football roster, so you can see what teams are making official announcments of players that are out for the week.

Tip # 5: Sign up for our fantasy football smart alerts as we will be sending out weeky fantasy football sleepers or whats known as "waiver wire wonders" through our system only forwarding players we see you do not have on your roster.

You can also check out our fantasy football forums on Sunday mornings as our moderators and partners post last minute injury reports, that can help you determine if a sleeper has the potential to start.
